Consistency: Like their other sauce, this has a thinner homemade consistency, it was thick enough to stay on the meat alright. My initial impression was that I prefer a thicker sauce, but to be honest, this did the job, didn’t require a ton of sauce, and was very easy to coat the meat. I really can’t complain.
Flavor: This sauce had a bold savory flavor. I think it could stand up to the boldest of flavors, in fact I thought that this sauce would be a particularly good match with brisket. It isn’t particularly sweet. They advertise it as their competition grade sauce, I was left wondering if this sauce (which again is very good) would compete as well in the south where the flavor profile tends to lean toward sweeter.
Where to buy: You can buy Slayton’s Signature Sauce directly from their website. Like the other sauce a I reviewed, at $6.95 a bottle it is reasonably priced and I would definitely buy some more.
Conclusion: 4.5/5 another great sauce from the team at Slayton’s! If you are new to the sauce game, putting a bottle of Slayton’s into your arsenal could certainly help you take your BBQ to the next level.
