What I’m Drinking: Master of Mixes “Loaded” Bloody Mary Mix

I am not a big Bloody Mary drinker, I don’t think I have ever actually ordered one in a restaurant.  My wife does like them though and I have sampled quite a few of hers…so I have tasted some good ones.  I was in Costco the other day and I saw a new mixer, the [easyazon_link identifier=”B00K0TLVMW” locale=”US” tag=”backyardmov05-20″]Master of Mixes’ (MoM) “Loaded” Bloody Mary mix[/easyazon_link]and I was compelled to get a few bottles.  We hadn’t opened them in a few weeks, but we were hosting some overnight guests for New Years Eve and knowing we were probably going to overdo it, the idea of a Bloody Mary bar really captured my imagination.

The mix doesn’t come with alcohol so you will have to add your own vodka, I liked the Kirkland brand vodka, it is easy on the wallet and very smooth.  It is the perfect vodka for mixing. MoM’s “Loaded” Mix isn’t overly spicy, but it has a bold flavor (you can taste the full range of included veggies) and it has a nice consistency that easily stands up to the ice and vodka.  You could have it at room temperature, but I definitely recommend serving it chilled.

Bloody Mary Bar:

While the “Loaded” Bloody Mary mix stands up on it’s own, it is nice to customize your drink.  Below are the ingredients I set out for my Bloody Mary bar. The pickled ingredients really impart a lot of flavor, my favorite ingredient by far were the spicy pickled green beans!

Celery stalks, Cucumber Spears, Dill Pickle Spears, Spicy Pickled Green Beans, Hot Pickled Okra, Tabasco Sauce, Tony Chachere’s Cajun Seasoning, Grape Tomatoes

Recommendation: Give the Master of Mixes’ “Loaded” Bloody Mary mix a try.  It is the perfect drink  for the morning after a long night out or for that early morning football game (the early game starts at 0700 here).
